Bake-Off Contestant Submissions
What a complete and total success!
42 entries were submitted for the Bake-Off.
Again, a heart-felt THANK YOU to everyone who entered the contest.
Laurel, Jenn and myself {the judges} were so impressed by each and every recipe.
And the creativity–oh, the creativity!!
So because you have made this even more difficult for us to decide,
take a look at all the entries while the judges stuff their faces with Valentine’s Day goodies.
The winner will be announced Monday!

{If anything is incorrect, just let me know and I will fix it}.
Who says eating vegan and gluten free has to taste gross or is limited???
Anyone ever in doubt should check this page out to be proved otherwise.
Thank you again, ladies–
I wish I could give ALL of you something
because you SO deserve it! xo
I want it all in my mouth now, please. Ah, these all look amazing, and I’m excited to see which recipe wins it (but really, the readers are the real winners). I’m definitely bookmarking this page as a ref next time I want to make a fancy dessert.
Aren’t you just so impressed? I hear you–I wish I could give everyone a little something for ALL their effort!!
Wow, everybody did such a great job! They’re all so beautiful and creative! Judging is going to be difficult but delicious!
Isn’t it impressive?? I cannot get over how difficult this judging process has become! Too many creative people.. 🙂
OMG. So many goodies to drool over..
Hi SM!!! I know, right??? I don’t know where to start! Aaaaaah.
What a delightful array epicurean delights! Looks like a wonderfully tough decision for the judges. Great job everyone!
Look at you fancy pants, with big words and encouragement. Why are you THE cutest little lady ever???
Oh my GAWD, so much good stuff in one post! You judges have a tough job ahead of you! ;P
I know, it’s almost overwhelming. Almost. Then I remember I get to sample it and then I think, I could get used this as a job 🙂
Thanks for putting on the contest, Cara. It was fun. Though my friends and family may secretly be really, really glad I’ve stopped tweaking the same recipes over and over again. I’ve also bookmarked the page so I can try all of them, too.
Ohmygosh, it was SO my pleasure! Thank YOU Kelly for all of your submissions!!! You were a busy girl in the kitchen, that’s for sure 🙂
ooohhh thats one big round up! i am eyeing all the tarts.. i havent really likes tarts..but the ones i tried were all buttery and sugary before i was vegan.. and these fresh zesty anf fruity tarts and custard cups will surely change my mind!
all the best to the judges!:)
The tarts do have a nice ring to them, don’t they? I am eyeing ALL of the entries really. SOoooooo hard to decide! Thank you again Richa for being awesome and entering multiple times! Seriously. Amazing.
YUMMMM. so many good recipes to try! I especially love how vegan food forces you to be creative with ingredients. Most people would never think to put saffron or avocado in a sweet treat but these look fantastic!! : )
It really DOES force you to get creative, doesn’t it? I think this is top favorite reason for me for going veggie: the creativity is forced on you {in a good way!}
This is perfect! Every time I get a new cookbook, I always flip to the desserts. I need to know how I can eat deliciousness in a new healthy way. I’m all, “Sure, sure…I’ll sautee more vegetables…Veggie lasagna, no problem. What I neeeed to know is how to eat chocolate, cake, cookies, and donuts in a way that I can justify it to myself later when I’m not out running because I’m too busy eating (healthy) snacks!!!”
Hilarious. I love the “sure, sure…” 🙂 Now you have 42 recipes to indulge in…for FREE!
Who would have ever guessed gluten-free/vegan could look THIS GOOD? Truly astonished by all the talent on display; obviously we should all get together for our OWN food fest. Catered by all the contestants, of course 😀
Oooo…I love this idea. Would you all be willing to go soy-free for the fest too? 😀
Whatever Dawnie–boo boo wants, Dawnie–boo boo gets!
Finally, someone gets it!
I will make sure everyone in your social circle gets that memo, Dawn 🙂
Sure, why not! Pretty sure it’s been proven that dietary limitations mean nuthin’ to those who have their hearts set on eating well! 😀
And so glad to know someone gets that too!
NO KIDDING!!! It’s amazing what can be conjured up with a little skill and determination. I am all for a huge bake-off food fest, by the way! Who’s in? 🙂
MEEEEEE
That makes it 4 of us! We need more people (or that means more for us to devour). In that case, we are capped off, folks 🙂
there is some serious talent here – everything looks and sounds amazing! I started opening pages, now I’m just saving THIS page. heh. I’ll be baking at midnight again… 😉
hehe. You are the midnight baker 🙂 No, but you are so right! Serious talent that blows me away (you included!)
oh wow, so many great entries – I don’t envy you! So much for my plan to win by default of being the only one…but I’m still honoured to be the first on the list! I was actually going to post the recipe on my blog today too, so this works out perfectly now that you’ve shared all the entries
HAHA! It would have worked if those pesky others didn’t enter 🙂 Hilarious. And since you were the first to enter, it was only fair to put yours at the top of the list! Once you post yours, I will take down the page I created for you for the recipe and link it up to your blog. xo
Ok, thanks! And I hope nobody reads my comment and takes it the wrong way…of course I’m not surprised that so many great bloggers wanted to enter your contest! I’m glad it was such a success for you 🙂
Of course not, silly! I thought it was hilarious {which is all that matters} 🙂 xo
Ok, it’s posted now! http://www.vanilla-and-spice.com/2012/02/raw-beet-cheesecake-for-two.html
Great! Thanks, Genevieve. I will link it up now…
Wow! These all look wonderful! I am all OVER those tartletts! So pretty! I’m amazed at the number of multiple entries! So much talent!
I know, I couldn’t believe how persistent some people were! It made me smile 🙂 And so do those tartlets, you are right! And what about that butternut squash bread???? AWESOME! 🙂 wink wink
Oh wow tough competition! everything looks amazing! and a great post from you Cara! thanks for sharing all of the entries!
Thank YOU for some super awesome submissions, Danielle! It will be a tough one to find 3 winners…
Wow such fun, pretty and creative entries!!! I don’t envy you judges at all yikes! 🙂 what a neat event, I know this took a ton of work so thank you so much for putting this bake off together!
Isn’t it incredible? Totally blown away by everyone, you included! And yes, a big THANK YOU to Laurel and Jenn as well who worked {still working} super hard on this!!
What a lineup of recipes!!
It’s crazy, isn’t it Ashley? Thank you for submitting those doughnuts, too! They are gorgeous! xo
Oh my gracious!!! These all look so fabulous!!! I wish I was a judge so I could have a good excuse to make every single one this week 🙂
We can make you an honorable mention judge and that can be your excuse… 🙂 hehe
What an AMAZING collection of recipes!
I have nominated you for the Liebster Award 🙂

Seriously Heather, you are waaaaaaaaaaay too kind. Thank you!!! xoxo
I’m thinking about just taking all of them and running! 🙂
Wow! Nom nom nom…
Hey watch it! You are spilling your juice on me as you drool…
omigosh, how are you going to narrow these down?? i need to know your strategy! craaaaazy.
I kinda like not telling you what our strategy is because then you get even more crazy…and that is fun to watch 🙂 hehehe <–evil snicker
seriously going crazy!!!
I am seriously enjoying watching. haha
🙂 What an amazing line-up! Sounds like you all have a tasty weekend ahead. xoxo
You want to come over and help me eat some of this??? 🙂
Good lord! How ever will you choose between them?
I just opened 9 new browser pages, and that’s not including the ones I’ve already printed from the original blog pages.
There simply are not enough hours in the day to try and make each of these delights! Well not with three small munchins at home. 🙂
Good luck with your decisions.
Nina
We have a plan set in terms of deciding but it is going to be SO difficult!! I am wondering what in the world I got myself into at this point 🙂 haha
Wow these are all so beautiful! You ladies have a tough job here…:)
I cannot get over how incredible of a job everyone did! I’m thinking I’m going to need to rob a bank so I can give everyone the $75 prize 🙂 ha
